Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to play college soccer in the United States while pursuing a Degree in Business.
I started developing Soccer at a very young age with my first touch of the ball being at age 6. Eventually as time passed the sport grew within me, it started to play a huge part in my life. I went to regular weekend trainings as well as participating in domestic and international tournaments.
At the moment Soccer is the only sport I focus in, as I want to play at the highest level possible. In the near future I would like to represent my country (Switzerland or Thailand), But before that point I know sacrifice and dedication needs to be put in. I currently train 6-7 times a week excluding matches/games while also retaining a High academic standard. I play for a Thai professional club called Bangkok united for their academy at the u19 age group. However, I was offered several contracts from different Clubs in Thailand. Although I refused in the right manner because I knew that this was not the most important necessity at the moment. The most important reason at the moment is to work hard in every training session and to excel so that I can make the transition towards collegiate level. For this reason, I chose Bangkok united as my club as it has a very professional youth set up, I believe that their reputation and standard will help me improve in all aspects as a soccer player.
As well as representing my club I also play for my school’s Varsity team which I captain. I am very vocal on the pitch as my role as captain as this is a very important attribute in soccer. I strive to encourage my teammates before every game and often create an effort to help the coaches at every training session. As well as my passion for playing soccer I also use my knowledge and experience to help coach youth teams such as the u15 or underprivileged children. I want to also give back as I believe that this is a unique experience that many do not get to encounter. By helping these children, I feel a sense of generosity by making their day better as well as helping them find an interest like I have in the past.
Apart from that I take have taken part in various ECA’s (Extra Curricular Activity). To list them I am included in Habitat for humanity, Smile club, Community garden which are clubs in order to raise awareness and to support a cause. Furthermore, I also do Pottery, Cooking, Yoga, Diving (certified) and Sketching. In addition I need to undergo Military service and from this I have gained discipline and hardship.
Finally, I am a well-rounded student athlete who can manage my time efficiently towards my academics as well as Soccer. My will and work ethic are what sets me from other student-athletes in order to reach my target. This is the reason why being a student-athlete at college would suit me as I’m not willing to give up.
