Personal Statement
Before entering a professional soccer club in Qatar, I used to play with the school team and enjoyed it a lot. One day, we played against a local soccer team in Qatar and won 5-2. They spotted me and asked my mom if It was possible to have me play with them. Everything happened in 2010, it marked my life. Since that day, I played with them and even got a salary, for the 1st year, of 54$/month, and every year it gets higher. When I arrived at the club, we won the cup 3 years in a row, and got recruited by the national academy of Qatar called aspire, where the best athletes join thanks to their good level in sports for a better future in that specific domain. My dream was to play with the Qatar National Team and be a professional soccer player. Sadly, in 2015, I chose to quite everything to continue with my studies and aim for better grades. 3 years later, I was left with 2 more years before the end of school, I asked my mom if I could re join my club, and she accepted but wasn’t so sure about it as she preferred that I continue with my studies because she said it was too late now. I then went to the club and they were happy to see me. They were full and couldn’t put me in their list, but the coach decided to remove someone from the team so that I could join. I then rejoined Aspire and play with the U19 soccer team. Today, I have a chance to go further with the club and could play with the first team next year. However, I lived here all my life and don’t feel like staying another year, therefore, I thought of continuing my studies in the USA and, if it is possible, play soccer at the same time. I practice 6 days a week and have one day off. I manage my time and try to be very organized to study and practice at the same time. The club is very happy of my attitude as well as the school. However, I now decided to change country, continue my studies and if its possible play soccer as well.
