Personal Statement

My name is Adam Imran Qureshi, Passport # AE4910033. I’m from Pakistan and live in Islamabad. Being from a military background, as my father is an Engineer and was a Colonel in Army, I had to travel different places with my family. Therefore, my education was also scattered to different places and countries. Having started my kindergarten at Islamabad, in class 5, we moved to Tripoli, Libya where I studied in Gems International, Tripoli. During my stay at Tripoli, I developed my interest in Football. It took me 3 months there to get into my schools Football team but I eventually made it. After my family moved back to Islamabad, I got admission in my O Level at Roots International, DHA Branch, Islamabad. During the summer vacations in 2014, I went to Germany with my school for a month in which we visited various places and cities in Germany and did my German Language Level 1 Course from EURASIA Institute at Berlin, Germany.

Meanwhile, I started having professional Soccer coaching from POPO FC, Islamabad and had honor of being selected in Pakistan under 16 Football team.  I also went to Dubai to attended friendly matches with UAE football clubs like Spanish Soccer Academy and Al Nasr.

I completed my O Level in 2017 with science subjects, however, I was not very comfortable with Chemistry and Maths, so I chose Business Studies and IT as majors in my A Level at TMUC, Islamabad. I’ve been selected as President of Red Crescent Society of TMUC during my first Year of A Level. This was the first occasion in the college, where a first year student was selected as President.  I also prepared for IELTS and did my IELTS in 2018 having scored 6.0.

I have been travelling to different countries since my tender age with my family. I travelled to UAE, UK and USA in 2005 during Summer Vacations (age 5). In 2006 I spend my Winter vacations in UAE. I had my Winter vacations at UK and USA during 2007. In 2010 we moved to Tripoli Libya, and after returning from Libya, I travelled to Czech Republic and Germany in 2013. I did my German Language Level 1 from Berlin in 2014 and also travelled to USA during my summer vacations in 2014. In 2016, I went to UAE with my Football team for friendly matches with UAE clubs. In 2017, I spend my summer vacations at USA, where I visited Many Soccer Stadiums and Training Facilities on the West Coast, USA to include, LA Galaxys home stadium StubHub Center in LA and THE HOME Stadium of Seattle Sounders FC , CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington.

I believe in proverb “Always remember, your focus determines your reality”. I plan my activities to make sure I have enough time to concentrate and train on my Passion for Football. To develop the right physique I believe, I have to push myself to the limit every day to reach my full potential as they say what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger. I Believe to improve in Football we need to feed our bodies with the right nutrients, have a good sleep cycle and live a healthy life in general.

I had been involved in hosting and playing local football competitions since I was 14 years old. I used to reach out to the local players, convince them and get the teams organized for local competitions; we managed to win many tournaments in Pakistan. We also won All Pakistan Champions League in 2016 where I participated with POPO FC U-16.

I have also done many Internships and participated in different competitions in the past some of them are that I participated in a speech contest in 2012,WWF Eco internship in 2014 and 2017,WWF Eco Adventure Internship in 2015,I was given the certificate for the most enthusiastic participant of the WWF Nature Carnival in 2014, I was given the certificate of achievement in 2012 and 2013, in 2012 for Participation in the silver jubilee celebrations of my school and in 2013 for a Presentation that I made as my Physics assignment. I gave an IBIC Exam this year and had 43rd position in my country.

I believe that each one of us should contribute to the wellbeing of fellow humans, and contribute to the wellbeing of society. My grandmother helped to establish SOS Children Village for orphan children at Faisalabad and my mother also contribute a lot for the cause. My upbringing in such environment has a very positive impact on me. I make it a point to contribute a major portion of my pocket money towards the needy and poor.

In future, my focus is to improve myself every day in all aspects of life. Make mistakes but learn from them and not to repeat them. My Dream is to play Football at a high level one day even if it’s just a match. My aim is to one day have my own brand. At the moment, I don’t have a very clear vision of distant future, but I do recognize the importance of working hard. The subject of Business studies is where I want to excel and finally achieve my Masters to be able to serve my country once I’m back. I also want to understand the American culture and develop my network with American and International students, which would help me a lot in future as the world is becoming a global village.
