Personal Statement

I'm currently a student at Dublin City University in my freshman year. Although it is an achievement to make it to college here in Ireland, my heart is set on transferring to a US College for my sophomore year onwards to not only play soccer, but also to study, learn and experience the US. In going to the US to play College Soccer, I have no interest in going to just take part, I have a great desire to play an important role in a good team and help to achieve something big, both in sport and academically. My highlight video is short, due to the fact that the season here has been cancelled, as well as not much footage being available to me from my previous clubs, however I believe that along with my  Soccer CV (available on request) as well as my high school and college grades, I could have an opportunity to go to college in the US.

Having played senior level soccer with men for the last year and a half or so, I can bring experience and understanding of the game that I believe to be very valuable to any collegiate team. Playing at the top amateur senior level in Ireland, with and against men in their 20s and 30s (some ex League of Ireland players), I believe I have the potential to hit the ground running in the US, with my experience of the fast paced and physical football played in the Leinster Senior League. I also have the experience of playing in a professional club's academy (Dundalk FC at u17 League of Ireland level), so I have a good understanding of the demands that professional clubs put on players, which will benefit me well in the US from what I've read.

From my time in youth football, I've played for well established Dublin youth football clubs such as Malahide United and St. Kevin's Boys, who I also played for at u15 League of Ireland level. I was selected to be a part of the DDSL (Dublin District Schoolboy League) representative team for the Kennedy Cup which is an annual All-Ireland tournament for the representative teams of every county (states) in Ireland to compete against each other. I was also selected to play in an Official Youth XI for Manchester United by United scout Walter Murphy. At International Level, I was selected as part of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) Emerging talent programme, which involved high-performance week-long and weekend training camps under the guidance of some of Ireland's top coaches. I am an FAI Qualified Underage coach, and have been coaching on FAI Summer Camps for the last 3 years.

To summarize, I believe I can bring a maturity, leadership and understanding of the beautiful game far beyond my years to any College Soccer team, as well as the ability to play ball! Feel free to contact me at any time, I hope to speak with you at some stage. Roll on 2021!
