Personal Statement
During my time in college I plan to complete a degree in the fields of either engineering or finance, whilst also committing myself to improving my technical, tactical and physical abilities on the football field, and achieving success during, and after, college.
In high school my parents, and myself, made it vital that I balanced my school life and football life, to ensure both were done to the best of my ability. This enabled me to complete 5 ATAR subjects; Biology, Human Biology, Maths, English and PE Studies, whilst also being able to perform at a high level in Perth Glory FC's Senior Academy, where I played and trained (at 6:20 am) five times a week. I was also apart of my high school's football academy, where I trained twice a week. Being able to maintain high standards in both school and football is a skill I plan to take with me throughout my time in college.
In 2011, I first began playing football and since then it has become an integral part of my life, I often find myself watching football games or playing football in my backyard during my spare time. So by being given the opportunity to do what I love during college is a perfect scenario for me. On June 5th 2021, I suffered an injury which kept me off the field for 8 months. During that time I worked hard doing rehab in the gym and on the field to gain back the strength and fitness I had loss. Since then, I have made a full recovery and completed a full injury-free season with Perth Glory FC's Senior Academy winning both the NPLWA u20's League and NPLWA u20's Top 4 Cup. This experience has taught me that resilience, dedication and hard-work is crucial when striving towards success both on and off the field.
My resilient and dedicated nature is a characteristic that I pride myself on and believe will spread throughout any team I am apart of. I also believe that my resilient and dedicated nature paired with my talent will help me to succeed in not only football, but also excel academically.
I am a versatile player capable of playing at any position across the defensive line, but enjoy playing as a defensive midfielder the most. As seen in my highlights video, my strengths are my passing range, my ability to read the game and my defensive abilities.
