Felipe Rios '19 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been a part of my life since I was four years old and I have always found it to be my passion not only while I am playing but also in terms of watching this sport. I always wanted to play soccer in one of the top clubs in my country and in the most competitive category and was fortunate to do so for the past four years playing for the Club Bolivar Pre-professional team.  Although soccer has always been one of my priorities, As a student-athlete I believe that being a skillful player and challenging myself to obtain a strong grade point average are equally important.  As a soccer player I believe I am a good fit for any team because throughout my entire "career" I have learned to fight for and earn a spot on the starting team and have the flexibility to play in different positions since I play in different teams with different formations. I feel that my main strengths are speed, coordination and leadership.  These qualities have made me grow as a player since I am very competitive and always try to show what I am capable of doing to help my team succeed. As I begin my Senior year, my goal is to find the best University possible, where I can continue to play at a very high competitive level, further strengthening my skills and get a top class education. I not only participate in soccer but am also on the varsity volleyball, basketball and track and field teams.  I have learned to manage my time in order to balance the physical activity and homework/tests etc. and hope that I can keep doing what I love in the best place for me.
