Personal Statement
My passion for soccer began from an extremely young age when I joined my local club, Balham FC and further when I was awarded a sports scholarship to Dulwich College at the age of 13. Playing for both club and school has helped take my sport to the next level and I thrive when playing and competing at a higher standard.
At my time at Balham I have had many great achievements such as winning players player of the year 3 seasons out of the 8 that I have played, but a key highlight would most certainly be when we were invited to an Italian tournament, which included teams such as: Man city, AC Milan and more. Recently the achievement that I am most proud of is when we played, and beat Fulham academy 3-2 in an extremely close match. At the age of 18 I am no representing Balham in the U18, Youth and have been fortunate enough to be chosen and am playing for the Men's squad.
Club football combined with the challenge of playing on the school first team is difficult to balance, but being able to learn under two strong coaches and play with teammates from across London comes with many rewards.
I am really keen to play soccer for as long as possible and to the highest standard I can and that Is why I am so interested in joining a US university. However as well as wanting to play sport at a really high standard I want to find the balance between strong academics and sport. I believe that on the soccer field and the classroom I am very self determined, hard working, coachable and I am willing to improve at every cost and that is why I think I could be the perfect candidate for your team and school!
