Personal Statement
I’m from Melbourne, Australia and soccer is the sport that I’ve loved since I was a toddler kicking a ball in the lounge room with my older brother, and then playing Club since I was 8.
I've played a number of different roles and experienced new ways to play the game under a variety of coaches, and now specialize as a central defender. My ability to read the game, defensive awareness, composure on and off the ball, communication and leadership on the pitch, aerial ability and accurate passing are aspects of my game that help me to contribute as a player and team member.
Right now, after 22 rounds in a comp of 17 teams, we've conceded the least amount of goals – as a defender, it’s a stat I’m really proud of.
The leadership opportunities I've been given - Prefect in Middle School, Captained U16 and U18 club teams, and School Varsity leadership group - have improved how I encourage and cooperate with a diverse range of personalities.
Going to university is something I always believed I would do, and from a young age I have envisioned myself playing soccer overseas. Being a student athlete in the college system is the perfect fit to progressing this dream.
I'm studying IB with a GPA of 4.0 and plan to major in Psychology or Architecture.
For me studying overseas is a challenge that I look forward to tackling. It can only be a gain playing the sport that I love while studying a subject that intrigues me, while getting connected with new friends and being part of a college community.
