Personal Statement
Soccer is a sport littered throughout my family. My father grew up with a close family friend of his in the form of John Barnes from Liverpool, and my uncle David McFarlane, once captain of the Jamaica U17 National Team, obtained a full ride scholarship to Hofstra University. I have had similar luxury throughout my life using soccer not as recreation but as an opportunity to garner knowledge in a professional setting having represented Barbados at major international competitions. Since September I have been working as a U7 coach to further develop my skills and love for the game. Going forward I am looking to obtain official coaching licenses and build a career around the world of soccer.
The relationship between sport and education for me has never been one of issue. The value in both aspects of development is crucial to success. For this reason I look to carry both of these pillars into a collegiate setting, and life moreover.
