Personal Statement
My name is Justin Collins and I would like to introduce myself and give you some information about my background and my goals.
It is my dream and goal to study and play soccer in the USA after high school graduation and to combine a challenging academic environment with a top-notch soccer program.
I am looking at colleges which have a good reputation in the area of business management/communications in combination with an excellent soccer programme where I can continue to develop and play soccer at a high level. I will commence college in the fall of 2020.
I went to the US West Coast the past 2 summers and attended camps at Stanford U., UCSB, UCLA and Boston College and played with the TIRO Sports team (made up of academy players from Singapore, Chicago area and Brazil) in the last 2 San Diego Surf Cups (U17 Super White bracket in 2018 and the Best of Best Bracket in 2019). In 2018 our team reached the final.
I have played in most positions but am most effective as a winger or attacking midfielder or striker. I can play with both feet although I am stronger with my right foot. I would say my strongest abilities are my speed and my playmaking ability. l am able to run the 100-meter sprint in 10.8 seconds and my playmaking ability comes from learning from coaches that value good movement of the ball and build-up play.
