Cristian Schmidt '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cristian Schmidt and I am a 2022 CDM, CB, OB from Wichita, KS.

This past fall, I completed my high school soccer career with Southeast High School as a four-year varsity starter, team Co-Captain this year and despite missing five matches to Covid protocols, was named as an honorable mention on the All-City Soccer League Roster for the second consecutive year. Currently, I am playing club with the #2 ranked team in Kansas, Sporting Wichita Academy Elite 03 coached by Dallas Fiszel. This will be our first season competing in the Central States National Premier League.

As a player, my strengths are tackling/defending, decision making, first touch, passing range, field vision and athleticism. Two areas I am continuing to develop are technical speed and acceleration.

I am currently in the Engineering program at Northeast Magnet High School and am interested in pursuing Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Sustainability as a degree. 

Outside of school and soccer, I work part-time at a local Mediterranean restaurant, study and teach piano, and am a soccer referee. 

I am excited to help my future college win a conference title, conference tournament championship and national title while simultaneously earning my degree.
