Personal Statement
My name is Cole Schroeder, I play Goal Keeper for both my Lyon County Varsity High School team and for my travel club, Valor United FC. I am more than just a player, but also a student of the game. I believe film and mental preparation is just as important as getting my hands in my gloves, and feet on the pitch. I am a recognized keeper in the state of Kentucky holding the Single Season Saves Record, being ranked #1 in 2019, and #2 in 2020 for saves in a season. I have the grit and drive to win that a keeper needs to play at the next level. I can safely say I hate losing, more than I love winning. Being around sports my whole life I have played almost everything ranging from: Soccer, Football, Cross Country, Track, Lacross, to even being on a Swim Team. I have always had a competitor's mindset, that mindset transfers from any field to the classroom. I find school just as competitive as any sport. I think this because I am always striving to be #1 in my class, which I have done each year. I achieve this by withholding a 4.0+ GPA all throughout high school, while also maintaining perfect attendance. I am very active in my school's clubs, holding many officer positions, and even being a state officer for my technology program. With my clubs, I go to over 5 competitions each year at both the regional and state levels. Now being a state officer, I do not only compete but also plan those same competitions. As you can see, I would be a perfect fit for your college, because of my strength, determination, and competitive drive on the field and in the classroom. I am one who loves to win but also learn. I am excited to be seeing every one of you on the pitch, and to soon win some matches!
