Hello my name is Bryce Bowers. I am currently entering my senior year at Elizabethtown High School, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. I have a 3.8 GPA at an academically rigorous college preparatory school. I am looking for a college that will challenge me academically and prepare me for my future endeavors. I am also seeking a college with a soccer program that will help me grow as a player and allow me to contribute as a teammate.
On my high school varsity team, I have started at striker, winger, midfielder, and center back. I am a very versatile player who can adapt easily to any position or style of play because I can read the game well. On my club team, Javanon 03, multiple college coaches including former Louisville soccer head coach, Ken Lola, have coached me. I started as midfield but was also called upon to play striker.
My sophomore year I started in midfield and finished with 10 goals and 7 assists as my team went on to win the 5th region tournament. My junior season, I started as midfield and then moved to center back. As a center back, I won “Defender of the Area” out of 10 schools. My team went on to win the 17th district tournament and the 5th region tournament.
I consider myself a smart but aggressive player who is always striving to improve every day I step on the field. A key component of my game is speed. I am very fast with or without the ball. I love working hard and knowing that I am getting better every time I take a step with or without the ball and that just pushes me to work even harder.
I am part of a military family. We have moved 5 times since I have been born. I have played on three different club teams. I feel that I’m very resilient. I’m able to mesh with the teammates on a new team very rapidly. I’ve had to prove to the coaches and players each time that I deserve to be on the team.
I am a natural leader on and off the field, as well as a motivated and dedicated teammate. I work as hard as I can to reach my potential both on the field during soccer games and in the classroom. I would really like to bring my sense of hard work, dedication and perseverance to the college or university that seeks that in their players.
