Personal Statement
My name is Caymon Stevie and I am just starting to come into my own. I developed later than other kids. When I was 12, I was a central midfielder that loved to create chances. I was also 5'5. Around the age of 14, I started to grow. I went from 5'5 to close to 6'4 by the time I hit 16. As a result, my body kind of betrayed me. I had to learn how to move directionally again. My center of gravity was completely different due to most of my growth coming in my legs. Additionally, the growing had caused a lot of pain and limited how much I could participate, just as I was learning a new position. I was demoted from my club Academy team for U-15 and bounced between striker and right and left wing. I was put in our lowest level of our Academy for U-16. I kept fighting. Now, in my honest opinion, I am a VERY difficult wing to defend. I'm stronger than almost everyone I play against (I went to the University of North Carolina college ID camp in Feb 2018. I, strength wise, felt every bit the level of every central defender there.) The best part is that my quickness if FINALLY coming back. I am what my Dad calls, a "diamond in the rough." By the end of the 2019 fall seasons, I will be a combination of size, strength, and technique that any coach would want. Just give me a chance, and I won't let you down.
