Jeremy Mason '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Jeremy Mason. My goal is to play soccer in college while pursuing my degree. I have been playing soccer since I was three years old and fell in love with my sport at an early age. I am a young man of high character and faith. I have an outstanding work ethic both on and off the field. I view myself as a well-rounded young man with interests in all aspects of my life. Every day I commit to doing small acts of kindness. I am a great athlete with unmatched quickness and acceleration. I win head balls. I love hard slide tackles. I make my teammates better on and off the field.  I am a lock-down wing defender.  In the last two years, I have played every position on the field at some point, and I have played them all at the highest level. My mentality is, "I will not get beat." I have played at the highest level in the National League of club soccer. My team played in the semi-finals in Dallas as a U16 player and the Semi-finals of the regions as a U17 player. I excelled in the final games and I believe I actually play better when the spot lights are on. My high school team was ranked in the top five nationally in three different polls during the 2018 season.

I believe I am underrated as a soccer player and that drives me every day to perform. I believe I make the game look easy with a simple touch, tackle, or being in the right position. One of my biggest compliments was from the head coach of a major D1 college program that told me I allowed my team to compete at the highest level because I controlled the field. I know I have a future beyond soccer. I am looking for the right school, program and coach to help me grow as a player and a man.

My promise is to commit every day in practice on the field and in the classroom and to help my team win - every day. I love the battle with my teammates. I love working together as a team. If you ask every coach I have ever played for going back to my early days of soccer, baseball, basketball and football, they would tell you I am a great athlete that makes spectacular plays, but I sacrifice for the team.
