Personal Statement
Hi I’m Ben, a 2025 defensive midfielder from South Portland, Maine. As a freshman in high school I’m told I have plenty of time before College. And yes that’s true, I know waiting won’t make dreams come true. So thats why I’m taking action now. The past year I’ve been settling down on other sports to pursue my soccer career, and open up more opportunity for soccer. Im different from these other young candidates because of my awareness On and off the field. I won’t give you 30 goals a season, but I’ll be the reason they end up being scored. I can move the ball quickly, I can defend, I can be creative with the ball, can make chances happen on or off the ball, be a heads up player, and can get involved in The play naturally. But you Can only be as good as you are on the field as you Are In the classroom. And I’m just that, I can put up good grades and Hold myself to a very high standard in the classroom. My grades have and will always be above average. My family has always had a engineering background, and I’ve always had a small passion in drawing. This has influenced me into really enjoying architectural engineering. Which is my preferred major as of now. With my talent I always Hold my self to a high standard; on the field and the classroom. Which has led me to expect a lot of myself, and has me left very passionate about what I do. I’m very determined of my goals in soccer and i Know I will have to make choices I will not want to, but pleasure takes pain. I will have moments where soccer won’t be the #1 thing on my mind. But that’s only natural. I expect as much out of my teammates I do myself, and a coach who can also interact with his/herd players and is demanding of them. As of now I play for Seacoast United 07b elite team, which we‘re currently ranked 1st in the state.
