Personal Statement

I am a firm believer in finishing what I start, and I stand by the saying “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. I believe that if you work hard enough and push yourself toward your goal, you will always end up achieving it. If you combine the right mindset and the law of attraction, then nothing can stand in your way. I have used this mindset when it comes to activities and tasks I am involved with daily. I have applied this mindset when it comes to my academics, my soccer, or even in a simple game of basketball with my friends.

When I was in fifth grade, soccer was my life and my whole world revolved around it. I had become too advanced for the team I was playing on at that time and decided to play for one of the best teams in the country. Although I was too skilled for my previous team, I was one of the least talented players on my new team. I quickly realized that I would get no playing time in games if I did not improve my soccer skills. At that time in my life, I was clueless about what the law of attraction was, but from a young age my mom and dad had always engraved into my head how important hard work was and how far it can get you in life. I worked extremely hard for about three years by putting in extra hours during the week working on my strength as well as technical skills to make me a better and stronger player. By eighth grade, I had not only earned a starting spot, but I had become one of the most talented, strongest, and reliable players on my team and dominated strength wise against most of the teams we played. I have continued my path of working hard on and off the field during high school. As a result, I play for one of the best ECNL soccer clubs in Maryland, I am taking challenging courses my senior year, and I am aspiring to be recruited by a Division I soccer program.

I believe that hard work, visualizing what you want, and believing in yourself as well as never giving up are the real ingredients to succeeding in life. Patience and perseverance are what I like to apply to everything I do in sports, school, and work.  I believe I can be a successful student-athlete in college and will have a lot to offer to the college I attend because I will always work hard. I will never give up. I will always strive to be the “best me”!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
