Personal Statement
My name is Jaden Somerville and I bring a lot of energy and a positive attitude to my soccer teams. I know the game of soccer very well , I have been playing since I was 5 years old. My goal is to give 100 percent every time I step on a soccer field. Over the many years I’ve been playing soccer, my favorite highlights have been scoring game winning goals and stopping the other team from scoring goals in the Dulles international tournament that my team ended up winning. It was amazing winning that tournament because the closest I had ever come to winning a tournament before that was second place and I was not content with that outcome so I pushed myself until we finally won. After many years of playing and traveling for soccer, I’ve learned how to adjust to teams playing styles, environments, and coaches expectations.
I am very open minded when it comes to choosing a college. I am looking for a school with a good program to study Engineering. My goal is to become an aeronautical or computer engineer. My athletic goal is to keep playing soccer through college and to grow my skills not only as a player but also as a person on and off the field. I believe I can make a positive impact to not only a new team but also the university as a whole.
