Personal Statement
Soccer has been a special part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing when I was about 5, and it has been a constant for me ever since. When I was about 9, I started playing keeper (as well as striker) - and it stuck. I am now a top goalkeeper in the DC, MD, VA region, and have played with some of the very best teams, players, and coaches in the Mid Atlantic. As a young player I got my start with coach Ossie Orlando playing with the top team for the Washington Soccer Club Diplomats, where we won two consecutive NCSL Division 1 Championships and many top tournaments. I then played for three years with the Potomac Soccer Association’s 2004 Blue and White teams (coached by Jesse Balsamo and Brian Wall) where we earned three league championships and won many tournament championships. After moving from D.C., I joined the OBGC Rangers (in Olney, MD), and I am now playing U19 soccer with the Bethesda Blue 2004 team in the EDP (with coach Josh Kinnetz). I am also the starting keeper for the my high school varsity team, a position I have held since freshman year. I have trained since 8th grade with Academy One Goalkeeping (Coach Edward Brown), and later also with United Goalkeeper Academy. I am a passionate student, and a hard worker in the classroom and on the field. I plan to study computer science, but I am also a musician, I love history and art, and I am fluent in Spanish. I look forward to finding a college where I can shine both as a student and as a player.
