Personal Statement

Playing soccer has given me the chance to experience the challenges of competition, while also providing the opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a person. Through soccer I have learned valuable life lessons about maturity, time management, setting goals and working hard to reach them, working with others towards a common goal,  winning and losing and how to handle both with dignity and respect.

My academic goal for high school is to continue to maintain a high GPA in my honors studies.  After high school I plan on attending college to further my studies (I haven't decided on a major at this point), and I want playing soccer at a high level program to be an integral part of my total college experience.

Beyond sports and school, I'm active in my community as a soccer camp counselor in the summer, and as a referee for the local youth soccer organization in the fall. I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to share my passion for soccer and help to teach the next generation of players. I hope that I am able to continue to set a positive example and instill in them the same love of the game that I’ve had since I first played as a 4 year old.
