Personal Statement
I am currently a junior at Burlington high school in Burlington Massachusetts. I carry a 4.4 GPA, am a member of the national honor Society and was named a Middlesex Conference All-Star during my first year on varsity. I plan on pursuing a business degree in college while also working to achieve a goal and dream of playing college soccer. Up until my sophomore year in high school I was a three sport athlete and have always been selected to play in the top travel teams and Elite level clubs. As an eighth grader I was selected to play on a tournament team that competed internationally (The Rey Cup) for two straight years. I was the youngest member of the team that was primarily made-up of juniors and seniors in high school.
After my freshman year I was recruited and joined a top tier select soccer club (New England Surf). I started off on the bench, quickly became a starter and by seasons end was ranked the top defensive back and player on the team. I am currently on an ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) regional team which will allow me to continue my development while playing against top-level competition.
The philosophy of “play like you practice and practice harder than you play” is something I was taught and picked-up at a young age and believe is what separates me from others. My coaches, regardless of the sport, have always described me as a hard worker, smart, athletic, coachable, leader, tenacious, gritty, even keeled, durable and a tough competitive player. I describe myself as someone who is ambitious, disciplined and has tremendous work ethic. I give everything I do 110% and now looking to find a college/university that will give me an opportunity achieve my academic and soccer goals. Given the opportunity, I have no doubt I can contribute to achieving their soccer program’s goals as well.
