Personal Statement
Commitment, communication, and collaboration are critical qualities of effective teams. These are qualities that have been instilled in me by my coaches and personal mentors since I was playing munchkin soccer. Little did I know then the real importance of these qualities and the power they can have on so many levels. These qualities have become my foundation as an individual and I am confident they will continue to develop and grow throughout my college career and beyond.
Commitment is demonstrated through persistence and dedication. Since my munchkin soccer days, I have played a lot of soccer and worked to excel in my skill and physicality. I have played club soccer for 10 years. I started with Stars on the U11 second team, and within two years, worked my way up to the NPL team. For the past three years, I have proudly played on the ECNL team. In addition to my commitment to my Stars team, I have also proudly played for my high school varsity team. I started as a freshman and this year I look forward to being a role model for my younger teammates as Captain. During my junior year, I was named MVP and Conference All-Star. I am fully committed to continuing to improve as I progress to the next level of college soccer.
Off the field, I am further committed to academics. I have been an Honor Roll student each quarter since my freshman year. Last year, I was inducted to the National Honor Society and, through this experience, have been directly involved in community service, giving back to both my school and to my community. At this time, my goal is to pursue a degree in computer science to prepare me for a career in information technology.
As I look ahead, my goal is to continue to give back and to continue to give my all on and off the field.
