Personal Statement
Playing soccer changed who I am from the core. I had social anxiety as a young kid and through soccer I gained lasting friendships and confidence that have been major factors in helping me become captain this year. My teammates see me as a leader because I take charge on and off the field. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old. I have learned grit, responsibilty, the importance of team work and community. I want to continue to be part of a soccer team in college. It is part of my identity and brings me joy on and off the field.
