Personal Statement
From a very young age, soccer has been the sport I have enjoyed playing the most. My love of soccer began when family and I moved to Germany in 2009. Through excellent coaching, encouragement, training and playing, I started to receive positive feedback for my "Ballgefühl", which in German means to have a natural feel for the ball.
When I moved back to the United States, I made the ‘04 Boys GPS New Hampshire NPL club team. At GPS, I trained most recently under coach John Price. I also participated regularly in New England Revolution soccer trainings, which were run by coach Carlos Costa. My success with soccer has afforded me the opportunity to play at a very high level of club competition, play on regional teams, and travel to Colorado to play in two national tournaments.
I am presently a boarding student at Brooks School with a 4.0 GPA, where I also row varsity crew and am a dorm prefect. At Brooks, I am starting on the first team varsity and will be Co-Capitan for my final year. Last season, I started at center-back, which is a new position for me. I played the full 90 in 95% of the games. We went 15-2-2 with the most goals scored and the least goals scored against in the ISL. I have played midfield for most of my soccer career. I’ve been told by coaches that my presence out on the field has been relaxed and confident. I have been told by my teachers that I am one of the most consistent, steady, intelligent students in my grade.
Looking forward, I hope to continue my soccer career at the collegiate level at a university that will challenge me both in the classroom and out on the field.
