- 2021 Highlights #2
Personal Statement
My name is Ryan L. Larson, and I am a rising 2022 Senior at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, MA. I am 5’ 10” 145 lbs. and am a dominant left foot soccer player. Ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for kicking a ball or a balloon. My parents told me that before I could walk on my own, they would hold my hands, and I would walk towards a balloon and kick it across the floor and then go after it again. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old and have had a passion to score as many goals as possible. This passion has grown over the years from youth soccer in my town of Norwood, MA to Club Soccer with the Boston Bolts. I started playing at the NEP level, and now I play at the ECNL level. This will be my fourth year on the Catholic Memorial Varsity Soccer Team, the last two years serving as captain. I have learned a great deal about how to motivate my fellow teammates, even in the face of adversity. I would like to continue my passion for soccer at a college or university where I can contribute my skills to the team and become a better soccer player. The college that I am looking for will develop my interests in math and science and offer a balance with between athletics and academics. On my path to Eagle Scout, through volunteer work, I have learned a great deal of life lessons that have helped me to be compassionate towards others and have helped me to become a more well-rounded individual outside of soccer. I am fortunate that the adults in my life have helped me to focus my energy on achieving my goals in academics, sports, and in my leadership role on my path to Eagle Scout. My faith in the Lord and my Catholic Memorial education has kept me grounded and will serve as a foundation for treating others with respect and compassion as I navigate both college and business worlds.
