Personal Statement

Having German parents, I have always loved the game of soccer and have been playing since the age of 3. As a student at the International Academy of Bloomfield Hills I aspire to reach my goals of going into the field of sports medicine. It has been named the top high school in Michigan and follows the prestigious academic program known as the IB (International Baccalaureate). I have a 3.8 GPA at this school, putting me ahead of most high school students in the state. Since coming to this school I have become interested in biology and soccer has become an even greater focus of mine. This consequently made me start thinking about what I want to do later in life: sports medicine. I would also like to note, that even though I go to the International Academy of Bloomfield Hills, my home high school is Lake Orion High School and I can therefore do athletics through Lake Orion which is where all my high school athletic data comes from. I take pride in being very dedicated to my academic career while being able to maintain a balance between school and soccer.

There were roughly 100 kids and the teams were split into 4 even groups. Coincidentally this was a day for American universities to see the German youth play and offer scholarships to anyone they were interested in. There were 11v11 games in the beginning and small sided 5v5 games to end the day.

7/16/17 to 7/18/17
The camp had the collective group split into four teams. Each team had morning and afternoon training sessions and an evening game. At the very end of the camp there was an all-star game in which selected individuals from all teams could play and exhibit their skills.

U-19 Team Training at F.C. Huerth in Huerth, Germany.

I was invited to participate in a team training at F.C. Huerth on Tuesday February 20th, 2018 based upon my performance at the previously stated training sessions at Proffac. They play in the 3rd Bundesliga at the youth level.
Training at Proffac (Professional Football Academy)

This training consisted of four separate, one-hour long training sessions at Proffac, a Profession Soccer Academy in Huerth, Germany. These training sessions required a lot of concentration, because Proffac focuses on not only the technical aspects of the game, but also the mental awareness of the player on the field. These four sessions ran between Monday February 19th and Wednesday February 21st, 2018.

I ran cross country at the middle school level in 7th and 8th grade. Here I was able to bring my two mile time from a 13:13 in my very first race in 7th grade to 11:20 at my final race that took place in 8th grade. this put me at 3rd all-time high for my

Academic Accomplishments

Are you in honor classes?

Yes. All my classes are honors classes under the IB Diploma program. The International Academy has freshmen and sophmores under this program and then have them under IB in their junior and senior years. The International Academy does not offer AP.

Are you in AP/IB classes?

Yes. I do not take any AP classes at my school, due to my IB curriculum. Therefore I do not have the opportunity to partake in said classes. I did take an AP German exam on the side and was able to score a 5.

Awards- I had an after school program from 1st to 10th grade in which I finalized my German Language Certificate (Deutsches Sprachdiplom, "DSD2") on the highest level (C1). - Won Battle of the Books in 5th grade (2012). - Lamp of Learning (6th, 7th, and 8th grade).
