I was adopted from Ethiopia 10 years ago. Coming from nothing, I am very happy to have the opportunities I have been given. My parents are a big part of my success, without them I would not be the person I am today. Soccer has always been my favorite sport. I have dreamed about playing soccer in college since I was a little kid. Playing three sports, I have learned to persevere, always work hard, and always listen to my coaches. I want to be a leader no matter what I am doing. I want people to be able to count on me no matter the situation like on the pitch, in school, or just as a friend. Academically I have skipped two grades, but still have been able to  maintain a 4.0 gpa. School is very important to me because my father in Ethiopia never had the opportunities I have, and I want to make him proud and not waste the blessings I have been given.
