Personal Statement
My name is Alessio Franco and I am a 2021 Student/Athlete currently playing in Spain for UB Conquense (Liga Nacional) in Cuenca near Madrid. I am a left-footed left-back but also play LCB depending on formation. Prior to me joining UB Conquense, I played for FC Malaga City in Almunecar. In Spring 2020, I started and played in matches against FC Barcelona U19, Sevilla FC U19, Granada CD U19, Cadiz U19, Almeria U19 and Malaga CF U19. We also played 3 senior-side professional sides in exhibition matches.
Before moving to Spain, I played for Midwest United FC 02 Royal (NL) where I played outside left wing back where I was expected to defend box to box but also to get heavily involved offensively in support of the formation. With my H.S. team (East Grand Rapids, MI)I played the no7 role and was expected to actively and aggressively be offense-minded, with goals and assists too. I scored 30+ goals as a Freshmen and Sophomore in my 2 seasons in H.S.
I am left-footed with strong accuracy, good touch and offensive and defensive skills. I have a strong soccer IQ and love the game. I am fast (fastest player on my team here in Spain) which allows me to both defend and attack well.
My goal is to represent a great school/program, teammates and staff and want to make a strong impact wherever I earn an opportunity to play. I also value my education and want to ensure that I do very well in the classroom as well to make sure that I am preparing for my future away from the field.
