Personal Statement
As an Athlete:
The day I fell in love with the beautiful game was the day my mom bought me my first ball and drove me to my first camp. I loved the feeling of scoring for the team; granted my first goal was in our own net and for the other team. Over the last 14 years my passion has only grown deeper and the hunger to be great can't be satiated. I've overcome numerous setbacks that deal with position, racism and attitude. If you want me on your team, expect me to hold them to a high standard and I hope you will hold me to the same. Below are a few athletic accolades I've received over the years:
- Freshman team captain and was pulled up with three other freshman to play with the Varsity team. Was the only freshman to play + assist.
- Freshman MVP
- 2017 club team captain
- JV Captain and 3rd highest scorer with 9 goals
- Varsity starter as a junior
- 2020-21 club team highest scorer with 7 goals
As a Player:
First and foremost, I'm a good student. Not amazing, especially since COVID hit but I do take care in my academics to make sure that I can play soccer. I try to hold myself to a similar standard I do with soccer. I do struggle with certain subjects but others I excel in. If you want me on your team, know that my soccer and grades will be balanced. One is not more important that the other, and they will both be kept at an acceptable standard.
