Hi, I'm Shadrach (Shad) Cunningham, and I am looking to transfer from Northern Michigan University . I am a goalkeeper from Waverly High School in Lansing, Michigan. I am 6'0, 200 pounds. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 or 4, and started playing primarily goalkeeper at 13. I thought GK would be a good fit for me, because I am very versatile and fast, and can dive and change direction very quickly. When I dive I can cover high, low, left, or right. I can throw the ball to half (about 45 yards), and punt up to 15 yards out of the half circle. I am good with high balls, corners, and crosses and turning them into quick scoring opportunities. I am very good with distributing the ball accurately and consistently. I am willing to fill the role of leader and I am very vocal on the pitch. I was starting on JV as a captain freshman year, and was moved up to varsity for a couple games. Sophomore year I was starting on varsity as a captain, and was a “Capital Area Activities Conference” All-Conference honorable mention, one of only two goalkeepers in the area. I work hard in the classroom and currently have a 3.56 GPA and I stay out of trouble. In college, I would like to study Sports coaching/education or sports marketing. I am willing to work hard in training and games, from the time they start until they are over, and then some. It has been my dream to be a college athlete as long as I can remember.
