Personal Statement
I have had a strong passion for soccer from the first time I stepped on the pitch at around 4 years old. Being part of a team, winning and losing together, attracted me to the game. With the support of my family, teammates, and my coaches, I have developed my game and academic record by always displaying a positive attitude and bringing maximum effort on and off the field.
I am dedicated to taking my game to the next level and am working to earn a spot at a University that challenges me academically and athletically. I believe my game is on the right path to compete at the next level. I have been very lucky to have been coached by some of the best and respected coaches in Michigan. I have complete respect for them and have taken advantage of their mentorship over the past several years. My game has developed by listening to their direction and taking an unselfish approach to how I play. Scoring goals is great, but without a great pass or a defensive steal to control the ball, the goal usually doesn’t happen. I learned very early that hard work and controlled aggression are at the foundation of my successes to this point. I bring 110% to the classroom and the pitch daily. Playing with grit is how coaches and teammates have described how I play. As my skills have developed, having grit has proven to be a great combination.
Family is extremely important to me. As I move toward my next steps in college, my core values learned from my immediate and extended family, will ultimately drive me to be the best student athlete possible. I will always respect and value the opinions of my coaches, teammates, and teachers. I will always seek out leadership roles and work to make those around me better. I am always looking for ways to improve in the classroom and on the field. I take advantage of tutoring sessions and all optional training sessions. Most of all, I am a genuine person and my family, and my faith are my number one priority.
