Connor Zimmerman '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Connor Zimmerman, I am a center defender and I am a hardworking soccer player. I am very much dedicated to soccer and I know the sport really well. For a while I wasn’t the best. I had trouble controlling the ball and I was scared to be aggressive and pressure the other players. I eventually decided to join the Michigan Jaguars club team and I made it my first year. I didn’t get much playing time but I worked very hard and improved a ton to earn a starting spot and play most of the game. I’ve had many big accomplishments in soccer, the main ones being earning my starting position on both my club and high school team and making my high school JV team. I am currently working hard to make varsity my sophomore year. If I were to get the chance to play in college I would give 100% every single day and I would be coachable so I keep improving. Knowing I have a chance of playing in college makes me more passionate to keep improving and working for a spot on a team. 

When it comes to schooling my options are wide. I am looking for a school closer to home around the Great Lakes (Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, etc.), but I am willing to travel far if a good opportunity arises. I am very open minded about schooling and I want to find the college that best fits me. I don't mind the size or general location. I am just looking for a great education and a chance to play soccer. As of right now I'm not quite sure about my major but I have a few ideas I might be interested in. Over the rest of my course of my high school career I am sure I will find a major I'm passionate about. 

My athletic goals are to continue playing soccer at a high competitive level. Also to make an impact on my team, coach and school and be an example for those students and players to come. At the end of the day I will leave it all on the field and just knowing I did my best will put a smile on my face.
