Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Nate Mewhorter from Apple Valley, MN. I'm a competitive, highly motivated student athlete with a strong work ethic on the pitch and in the classroom. I'm starting my senior year at Lakeville North High School in Lakeville, MN with a 3.79 cumulative GPA and as a starting goalie on the varsity soccer team.
I've been playing soccer since I was five (and a Messi fan almost as long) and it's been my passion ever since. At an early age I was able to see the field and play any position however it was about three years ago when I volunteered to fill in as goalie that I found my calling. I've spent the last several years playing goalie for club soccer teams like Lakeville Soccer Club, Dakota REV and more currently, Burnsville Valley United (a newly formed club where we finished second at state this past summer).
I don't shy away from hard work and will take advantage of any training opportunities I can. Between club and school soccer seasons I have attended (and will continue to attend) various goalie camps (Coerver, Shattuck-St. Mary's, Lakeville North) to continue learning and sharpening my skills and technique.
My goal is to receive the best education possible at a college or university with an excellent academic program in Business/Finance where I can continue my soccer career. I'm a motivated and dedicated team player looking for a school where I can be an active contributor and play at a highly competitive level. A school where I can have fun, work hard and succeed alongside other student athletes who share my passion and academic and athletic goals.
