Josh Mata '25 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has always been a substantial part of my life since I was 4 years old. I have always aspired to play for a college that I can contribute to in a significant way while growing as a student athlete. 

Everyday, I work on different aspects of my game. Whether it's exercise, watching film, recovery, practice, or any other activity.  As a center-back, I need confidence, size, strength, and speed, all of which I am grateful to have along with great defending technique. I also understand the importance of having good chemistry within my team therefore, I prioritize relationships with my teammates and coaches. I also understand the important resource that coaches and other experienced players are and I often utilize them by asking questions and asking for feedback on how to improve.

I do my best to encourage my teammates to be the best version of themselves on and off the field.  Academically, I try to learn as much as I can from my teachers and strive for excellent marks which are reflective in all of my transcripts.
