Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Ronan Brew. Throughout the last ten years, I've had the opportunity to grow and learn through my journey in competitive soccer. Whether it was showing up to practices where the Minnesota weather decided to hail on me or pushing myself to earn a starting spot on my varsity team in sophomore year, this beautiful game has allowed me to become a stronger and overall better person. Because of these amazing experiences I have had as a result of soccer, I am looking forward to growing as a person and an athlete at a collegiate soccer program.
Part of what has allowed me to become the player I am today is my soccer IQ that I have been praised for by my coaches. I can quickly adapt to new strategies, formations, and techniques all in stride. I can take what coaches ask of me and integrate that into my play style with ease. As a result of this in-field awareness, I have been able to develop several skills including my runs off the ball and set-piece delivery and execution. This facet of my game is one of my strongest and is what helps me stand out as a player on the field.
Off the field, I have continued to push myself academically. I currently take the most rigorous program my school has to offer, so this drive outside of the field has given me another insight as to what it means to be a determined and motivated student athlete. I consider academics to be incredibly important to me as I progress towards my future.
