Personal Statement

I have considered myself a well-rounded athlete and competitor for as long as I can remember.  It started for me in 3rd grade when I went to the National Chess Competition with my chess team where I came in 21st in the country, and our team came in 3rd in our division.  Soon after that I started playing soccer, and the first year I entered traveling soccer I was part of the C1 team. I have been part of a bilingual Spanish school program for 10 years, and this has given me a lot of opportunities to interact with players from other countries.

My freshman year I was placed on the JV team as a starter and captain, and I was also pulled up to play on Varsity as well.

Adults around me have labeled me as resilient - when I looked up this word, it means being able to come back after difficult times.  My family has been through a lot in the last five years - my Dad was a police officer that crashed and now he has a brain injury.  My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.  But I have still been able to put in all of the work required for soccer and school, even when things were unsure.

Right now I plan to pursue a college degree involving computers, chemistry or math.  I hope to find a school that will let me focus on both my computer education and play soccer at the highest level.  Both soccer and school are very important to me.  I am planning to take college courses starting my junior year in high school as part of PSEO, and I hope to begin understanding what part of chemistry or math that I want to pursue.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
