Personal Statement
If there is one thing that soccer has taught me, it has been to never give up and never underestimate my opponent. This holds true both on and off the field. I have been blessed to have had amazing coaches, both on my teams in the US and in Mexico where I lived for three years. My coaches did not just teach me how to play soccer, but they guided me in making the right choices, being a team player, and putting everything into what I do on the field and in the classroom. They have helped me to build self-confidence and always believe in myself. As a result, I push myself to be successful in uncomfortable situations. I look for opportunities to prove my abilities by taking more rigorous classes while still performing well on the field. In the future, I want to attend a school that pushes me academically to best prepare me for life, but that will also allow me to improve as an athlete. I know that the choices I make today will impact my future opportunities.
