Personal Statement

Soccer has been my passion since the age of 4. I have an older brother who played soccer and I would tag along and play with the older boys until I was old enough to play and join a club team. I started club play in Baltimore, MD at 5 and have not stopped yet. I have also played basketball and baseball in high school however soccer is my passion and has been an integral part of me as long as I can remember and hope to continue this love of mine into college. As a player I read others well and can anticipate what players may do and can adjust my game to benefit and excel. I have learned that the game is not just about me scoring, but about making the team better as a whole. Everyone wants to score but it is key to be that player that also gets the team to that point.

I envision my college years to be playing soccer and growing personally into the business man I hope to become. My long term academic goal is to earn an MBA . On the field I plan on being a player that all can look up to and have a positive influence on the team members. I am currently a player that the team can count on to be where they need me to be and to do my job. I have learned that nothing is given to you and that you must earn it both on the field and in the classroom. Academically, I will continue with the goal of maintaining the best grades possible and continuing with the hard work of managing both soccer and education. Focus, hard work and dedication serve as a motto for me to strive to be better every day.

I take pride in all that I do on and off of the field. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have recently found out local FCA chapter this past year and enjoyed the fellowship with fellow athletes. I enjoy playing basketball in my free time with friends and working out. I hope to continue to learn both as a player and person in life that never to be discouraged, but to work hard and take risks in life to better oneself.
