Personal Statement

Please send all camp invites to my NCSA inbox or [email protected]. Also, feel free to check out my Instagram account @calebburt33.

Hello my name is Caleb Burton and I’m a 2024 midfielder/forward from St. Louis, Missouri. I currently play for St. Louis Development Academy in the Premier League and NPL and my high school team Maplewood Richmond Heights. I wear number #10.

Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.97/4.0 GPA. I excel in various subjects including History and Theology.

I’m a versatile, trusted and impact player on my club and high school team. I play the central midfield position on my high school team and winger on my club team, but I can also play striker on both teams. I am the main key player on my high school team, having the most assists on my Sophomore year and the top goal scorer and assists maker my Junior year. I am always one to stand out for my hustle and work ethic on and off the field. My high school coach says that I am a "catalyst" and a leader on the team.

[Why is soccer/football important to you? Has it taught you life lessons? Is it your escape? Has it been a motivating factor in other things that you do?].

Soccer is important to me because it has always been a way where I could just be myself and express myself. There have been many times in my life where soccer has been an escape and a teacher for me. Soccer has taught me countless life lessons. One is to always hustle, honor (honor your teammates, coaches, and referees), and have humility. Another one is to always value the relationships you build from the teams you're on.

Through college athletics, I desire to play at a high level, compete every day, make a significant difference on and off the field, and earn a college degree. After earning a degree in possibly Theology and/or Psychology, I would like to pursue theological studies and ministry opportunities.
