Personal Statement
I have been playing competitive soccer since I was old enough to walk and as a result, I have been instilled with a love of the game from my family and my own experiences as a soccer player. I view the opportunity to play collegiate soccer as a natural progression in my career as a high-level competitor and the next great challenge as a lifelong soccer player. Beyond college, I have aspirations of playing professional soccer and believe that collegiate soccer will be both its own rewarding and growth-filled experience as well as excellent preparation for what will become a professional career one day.
On the field, I exude creativity, vision, and tenacity. I make use of my technical skill to combine with teammates, creating opportunities in tight spaces and using my movement away from the ball to keep defenders off balance. I foresee runs that my teammates will make, allowing me to execute crisp passing into open space to set up opportunities. Defensively, I can read the build-up of play to anticipate the next pass from an opponent and intercept it. On both sides of the ball, I effectively use my physicality and speed to win and maintain possession, utilizing my high work rate in tackling and challenging defenders.
Off the field, I feel my strongest traits are my intellect, compassion, and focus. I am an avid learner, certainly making the most out of my classroom opportunities but also expressing a keen interest in learning as much about subjects beyond everyday schooling that spark my interest. With my teammates and friends, I strive to be supportive and approachable, always willing to lend an ear or a hand to those who would appreciate my help. Finally, in all my activities, I commit myself fully, concentrating entirely on the matter at hand and not allowing myself to become distracted or give less than my full effort.
