Personal Statement
Hi coaches, my name is Chris George and I am in the graduating class of 2019. I currently attend school at Westminster Christian Academy in St. Louis, Missouri. Playing college soccer has always been a dream of mine. I have been playing the game for almost 13 years now, so the knowledge and love of the game is at an all time high right now. My primary position on the field is center back, while I also play some defensive midfield. At Westminster, I have played at all three levels, Freshman, JV, and Varsity soccer. Acting as a Captain my first two years of high school soccer, I have the leadership skills along with the flexibility to work with all different kinds of players. My junior year I was told that I would swing between jv and varsity, which was not my ideal situation. By the time the season was coming to a close I took over the starting role on my varsity team and was awarded with the most improved player award once our season had finished. My hard work ethic and passion for the game of soccer has not only made me a better player, but also a better student and person. My college athletics goal is to help shape and strive a program for pure greatness. Whatever role suits me on a team, I will always give 110% and encourage my teammates around me. I am not only trying to find a school that fits me athletically, but also academically. Being a student athlete in college has always been a dream of mine. I take what I know in the game of soccer and try to relate it to the information I learn in the classroom. My mental knowledge and patience on the ball are my two most strong suits when I play the game. My physicality and speed has contributed to every team I have played for. As I continue to work for this upcoming senior season, I will be looking forward to hearing from everyone who has interest in me. I am so excited to see what this path will lead to and the collegiate level of play that lies ahead of me.
