Personal Statement
I've always known I would attend a college or university from a young age, despite growing up in a small town in western Montana. I fell in love with the subtle beauty of soccer when I was in the third grade, watching soccer matches on tv. That same year I joined a local club team with my friends and have been a part of different club programs every year since. My coaches noticed that I had natural talent and I developed into an extremely focused player and became oriented toward improvement. After five years of desiring a better coach and program, I joined the Missoula FC club team and have improved far above the friends I started out with. In practice I stay focused and I work harder than anyone. I set the standard and push my teammates to "pick up the pace", if you will.
I believe my abilities in soccer will help me attain my goal of a higher education. Soccer has always been fun for me and I am more motivated than ever to improve my abilities because playing soccer in college will make my education far more attainable. I am interested in a degree in business, physical science, and environmental conservation. I am also passionate about journalism. My high school English teachers make a point of my writing dexterity and believe I am laudable. Earning a degree and playing soccer for a great school is significant dream for me. I hope that my aptitude for soccer can help me achieve this goal.
