Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Nicholas Downs. I am five foot eight and my weight is 140 pounds. I run a 4.47 fourty yard dash. I have great upper and lower body strength and the best part of my physical charactersitics is my speed. My most important accomplishment in life is making the regional team for Region IV and going to the Disney Showcase in Florida. Every year in ODP I get farther than the year before, whether it is making just the pool, or the actual regional team. Another one of my important accomplishment is that when I was captain of my old club, ESC(Edmond Soccer Club) my team went to seven tournaments, five out of the seven tournaments we were champions and the other two we got second place. That year in tournament goals alone I had 52 goals.

I can offer endless amount of work ethic to my team. I am an extremely hard worker not only on the pitch, but in the classrooms as well. I strive to be better than anyone else. I am a team player and I have been a captain for 5 years for several clubs. I am always there at practice or games thirty minutes before our scheduled time to meet. My goal is to play college soccer and one day be able to go professional. I am a person who does whatever it takes to accomplish a task, and nothing less.  I want to play with players who are better than me that way I can work myself to be better than them. I do not have any specific location on where I want to play, as long as I can play in a high competitive school that has  a good academic program.

My desired major is either sports medicine, or physical therapy. My goal in college is to become a much better soccer player than when I arrived. My other goal is to help my team win a national championship, to score, and create goal scoring opportunites. I also want to play at a level that consistantly tests my soccer abilities.

Thank you for reading my personal statement!

               Sincerely,

         Nicholas Downs
