Personal Statement
My name is Austin Alphonse and I am a 5’ 11" Senior from Durham, NH. I began playing club soccer in NJ at the age of 8 and have loved every minute of it. I am primarily a center midfielder but also play fullback at times. Most of the growth I have experienced at soccer has been while playing for Seacoast United Soccer Club. Throughout the years, my club team has won numerous NH state championships and has participated in Super Y. Additionally, I have been a starter for my varsity team since sophomore year. My coaches and outside observers have commented that my soccer strengths are my foot skills, ability to quickly distribute the ball and leadership.
I am seeking the opportunity to play at a college that has both a strong soccer program as well as a strong academic curriculum. Both facets of my post High School career are equally important to me. I have taken accelerated courses in English and Math. While I do not know yet what my major will be, I am interested in English, Psychology as well as potentially graphic design.
My coaching mentor, Tony Lepore, once told me that you can have all of the talent in the world, but you don't have heart, the desire to win, talent means nothing. I always play with heart and passion!
