Personal Statement
By the time I could walk, I was kicking soccer balls around with my older brother. After playing pass in the yard for a few years, I couldn’t wait to get on the field and play with kids my own age. Once I stepped onto that field, I knew soccer would be an important part of my life.
As I got older, I became engrossed in every aspect of the sport that I could find. I played in as many leagues as possible even while participating at the varsity and club level with my other sports. As I became a mentor to younger players, I was able to get involved in coaching recreational leagues as well as referee at the local middle school’s tournaments.
Through all of this I began to develop my personality as a player. My passion for the game is exemplified in my playing, On the field I bring an energetic and positive attitude. I am encouraging to my teammates and want nothing but the team’s success. I am a coachable player always looking to continue to expand my skills through staying dedicated and hardworking. Being naturally agile, I have a quick first step and strong ball skills. While my primary position is an attacking midfielder I am also very comfortable as a defensive midfielder or any other position on the field if necessary in a game. I am an aggressive player with good field awareness, making the sure the ball is where it needs to be.
Academically, I look to pursue my many interests. I study hard and work to maintain a solid GPA. I am looking for a school that will help me grow as a player as well as a person. I want to be able to explore my diverse passions and challenge myself mentally as well as physically. Through my college experience, I am hoping to prepare myself for a bright and successful future while being able to nourish my love for soccer.
