Personal Statement
I thrive on competition and being pushed to my limit. That's why I want to play college soccer at the highest level. No matter what division I play at, I want to compete in the most competitive league possible. What ever college I play for, I want to take that team to championships. I know I will be prepared for the rigors of being a student athlete. I have good leadership qualities, I am adaptable, and I am strong academically. I am committed to my own development, while being a strong supporter of my peers, my community, and my teammates.
My parents will attest that they have never asked me to practice. I have an inner drive that has guided me well. I may not always be the most talented player, but no one will out work me. As a result, I have always been named captain of every team I have played for. The one thing I am most proud of, and lucky to have, is the great quality of friends I have chosen to surround myself with.
I have thrived in both a small private school, as well as a very highly rated public high school. I maintain strong friendships while achieving excellent academic results. I have done this while playing soccer year round. I travelled 3 hours to Foxboro, Massachusetts every Friday night for the four years for "invitation only" elite trainings with the New England Revolution. After I got onto the Boston Bolts ECNL team last year, I now travel two hours two or three times a week to practice.
I also enjoy basketball, tennis, and golf. However, soccer is my love and focus. I have great versatility on the field. My favorite position to play is right wing, but coaches also play me at left back, left wing, center mid or striker. I pride myself on my coachability as well as my aptitude for the game. I have good vision of the field and solid tactical ability.
