Personal Statement
During my high school sophomore year, I was playing in the first round of the state tournament against the number one team in the state, Kearny. We held them to 0-0 all game and while playing, I realized I love this sport and the things it brings to me through the hard work and effort it requires. Honestly, what really opened my eyes to soccer was watching my older brother play as I grew up, and this was a huge inspiration for me. I wanted to be just like him and play soccer. I just loved playing with the group of friends I had, and many of us still play together today. I’ve learned what a great feeling it is to have a group of guys that you want to play with wanting to work hard to win for and with them.
I want to take more business classes in high school so I can go to college and study business and marketing.
I have not had to overcome any obstacles from a soccer standpoint but in life one thing hit me the hardest. When my grandmother passed away it was a very rough time and I was feeling really down. It was great to have my team behind me as they all came to the viewing which really helped me to get through this time. It felt really good to know that they were there for me and supporting me on and off the field. I think I would help bring leadership to any team even as a young guy. I am always working to make myself and others around me better. Also I believe that I will be able to take advice and constructive criticism very well and use that to help better myself.
