Personal Statement
I'm an open-minded individual, willing to accept challenges, and gaining confidence in my ability as a GK and person every day. My parents have instilled in me the attitude that nothing is given, and if you want to achieve something you must earn it. My coaches have continuously challenged me as well to become a better person, teammate and overall athlete. I'm driven to improve and get better in my position as a GK, each and every season. I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old. My first introduction to the sport was with my dad in coaching me in the local soccer leagues. I've been very lucky to have my parents provide me the opportunity to train with some extraordinary coaches in our area.
I'm always focused on improving my skill set. Being so tall at a young age has been both a blessing and a curse. I've had to put in a lot of time and effort into my balance and agility. I'm very targeted with my training. I identify my weaknesses and as a result do a lot of yoga, core strength, and speed and agility work. I play basketball and lacrosse. Both of these sports have helped a lot in my overall athletic development
I'm most passionate about soccer and wish to pursue it at a collegiate level. I demonstrate good sportsmanship qualities by handling constructive criticism and respecting other players, coaches, and officials. I'm confident but not cocky. I relate with my teammates well. As a goalkeeper, I give feedback and encouragement to my teammates to better themselves during and after the game. Math, and science are academic subjects in which I excel. My interests for college would be in the field of physical therapy.
