Personal Statement
My name is Ben Mallory. I started playing soccer when I was six years old and have been playing ever since. Soccer has been and always will be such an important part of my life. When I was a kid, I had a shirt that said, “I learned about life with a ball at my feet” and this is so true. I learned to be a teammate. I learned to be a leader. I learned to listen not only to words, but to my instincts as a player and as a person. I learned flexibility by being the player my team needs, whether that is a center back, defensive mid, or an attacking mid. I learned to celebrate wins and learn from losses. I learned to give my all every time I step on the field, no excuses. Playing soccer has taught me not only game, but life lessons. My desire to continue my soccer journey in college just makes me work harder each day at this game I love so much. I hope to be able to join a team that can help me achieve that goal.
