Starting soccer at the age of 4 as a pastime soon evolved into something indescribable. From the start, I watched the professional players on the TV aspiring one day to be like them. Unfortunately, I did not make the Middle School soccer team. Not being a part of my school’s team pushed me to be better than the best and helped me develop a strong work ethic. In my freshman year of high school, I finally had the chance to be a part of my school’s team. That season, I played significant minutes of each game and I scored a few goals. By the end of the season I felt like I contributed to our team’s 9 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie season.
I lead by example by dedicating myself on the field and off the field where no one sees. I know that in order to pursue my dreams I must attempt to play to my highest potential each and every day. Whether I am playing in a game or training in my backyard, I strive to continuously improve. I constantly try to demonstrate the four core values that comprise my high school soccer program: hard work, support, coachability, accountability. These words may be simple, but I aim to carry their values into everything that I do and will do in the future.
